Emergency Services - The Emergency Care Department of Northeastern Hospital is staffed by a team of dedicated professionals who have special training in Emergency Care Services. Our Staff strives to provide all patients with outstanding medical care in a quick and efficient manner. From the biggest emergency to the smallest injury, our emergency team is ready to serve you and your family.

Physician Referral Service - Need help finding a doctor? Looking for that perfect physician match? Call our Physician Referral Service at (215 291-DOCS) Callers are connected to a network of physicians from primary care, (family and general practitioners, internal medicine, pediatrics and obstetrics and gynecology) to specialists. The service is free and available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. During regular office hours our service representatives can connect you with the physician's office you select to schedule an appointment.

Sports Medicine Department - The Temple Sports Medicine Department at Northeastern Hospital is staffed by an interdisciplinary team of dedicated professionals. The team of Orthopedic Surgeons, Athletic Trainers and Physical Therapists work together to provide the most advanced treatment available in injury and recovery from an orthopedic related problem. Sleep Disorder Center - The Northeastern Hospital Sleep Disorders Center is devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of a full range of sleep disturbances, such as: * Excessive Sleepiness * Sleep Apnea Nocturnal Seizures * Heavy Snoring * Sleep-Wake Cycle Disturbances * Parasomnias (Night Terrors, Nightmares, Sleepwalking, Bedwetting) * Narcolepsy * Restless Leg Syndrome * Nocturnal Periodic Limb Movements
What happens in a sleep study? If you take part in a sleep study at the Northeastern Hospital Sleep Disorders Center, you'll spend one or two nights sleeping in a private room. As you sleep, monitoring equipment will track your brainwaves, eye movements, breathing, blood oxygen levels, heart rate, and muscle activity. The information recorded during a sleep study at Northeastern Hospital is interpreted by physicians specialized in sleep disorders. Sleep disorders are recognized medical conditions that are covered by many insurance companies. The Sleep Disorders Center is located in the Northeastern Hospital's Allegheny building. Convenient parking is available in our secured parking area located adjacent to the hospital's Emergency Department. School of Nursing - Northeastern Hospital School of Nursing is a hospital-based RN program that prepares students to enter the nursing profession. A strong emphasis on clinical experience (actual patient care) is correlated with courses taken at Temple University and Northeastern Hospital School of Nursing. The school has an articulation agreement with Temple University for graduates to pursue the RN-BSN degree. Oncology Services - Inpatient and outpatient chemotherapy are offered by the Oncology Unit. The Unit also coordinates the delivery of radiation therapy services. The Unit is staffed with chemotherapy certified staff, specially trained to deal with the needs of cancer patients. Northeastern Hospital also helps to meet the needs of cancer patients and their families by providing a comprehensive array of cancer education and support groups. 

Community Services - Northeastern Hospital is a strong community-based hospital in the Northeast section of Philadelphia. Community services programs include a variety of educational programs, volunteer services and support groups. Critical Care Visiting Information
We at Northeastern Hospital recognize and understand how difficult it is when a loved one is hospitalized. To provide you reassurance and yet, insure continuous patient care, one individual should be designated to call the unit and speak to the registered nurse caring for your loved one.

Calling Period:
Spokesperson to call during the following times:
  1. 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  2. 9:00 PM - 6:00 AM
Frequency:
One call per period is encouraged. More frequent calling takes nursing time away from the patient. Only the spokesperson should call unit.

The operator will call the unit to inquire if the nurse is available. If the nurse is not available, the caller will be informed as to when to call again. Callers between 5 PM and 9 PM; 6 AM and 9 AM will receive condition report only.

Valet Parking is available at the Tulip Street Entrance of the hospital from 6:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

For Your Health - Smoke Free Environment
Northeastern Hospital is a smoke free environment. Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the hospital. Thank you for not smoking.

Adult Day Care Center - The Adult Day Care Center is the perfect solution for caregivers looking for peace of mind for older adults who are impaired, live alone, or need supportive services to improve or maintain their level of independence. Our Adult Day Care Center offers services that range from active rehabilitation to social and health related care. The Center is open 8 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday. Short Procedure Unit - This newly renovated unit allows patients to come in, have surgery and go home the same day. Northeastern Hospital maintains 10 operating rooms with state-of-the-art equipment, (video, laser and laparoscopy). To insure the patient's comfort, patient-controlled analgesia (PCA), is available.

Same Day Surgery - This unit provides outpatient surgical procedures the same day patients come into the hospital.

The Industrial Healthcare Center - is a full service hospital-based program which can meet the full range of industrial health care needs. Patients receive prompt, courteous and reliable medical care when receiving pre-employment examinations, periodic check-ups or when being treated for injury. All laboratory, X-ray, pharmaceutical and physical therapy needs are satisfied right here at the hospital, thus minimizing the amount of time an employee misses from work. We pride ourselves on both our ability to return employees to work quickly after injury and the strong relationships we build with our employers and their employees. We are always willing to answer your questions and maintain close contact with our clients.
